The Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)

Metabolism is the process by which your body changes the food and liquid you take in into energy for use. This is an essential function for weight management and general health.

The Resting Metabolic Rate or RMR is the minimum number of calories you need to perform basic functions. Two people with the same weight and height can have very different metabolic rates and energy needs.

The RMR Test - How it Works

The RMR test uses state-of-the-art technology to measure the number of calories your body needs at rest, that is, the number of calories your body needs to perform basic functions.

From that number, Dr. Svetlana Dani will use your results to determine how many calories you need in a day to lose, maintain, or gain weight.  The test results you receive in your personalized report include the RMR and your Total Energy Expenditure, or the number of calories you burn in a day.

Nutrition and Sports Medicine

All physical activity and athletic performance is enhanced by optimal nutrition.

Low energy intakes can result in loss of muscle mass, menstrual dysfunction, failure to gain bone density, an increased risk of fatigue, injury, and illness as well as prolonged recovery from injury.

Dr. Dani’s specialty is working with patients with relative energy deficiency in sports as well as patients trying to optimize their training with proper macronutrients and hydration.  She works closely with nutritionists and other specialists to find an individual plan for each patient.
